University College London MA Course: History of the Print
The History of the Print component is taught in small groups (normally no more than six) in front of original prints in the British Museum and UCL's Strang Print Room. In addition students are required to take a Core Course in current issues in the History of Art, a second Special Subject, and a Dissertation of c.10,000 words on a print topic. In addition the History of the Print students put on an exhibition, normally in the Strang Print Room. These have proved extremely successful to date and give students invaluable experience. In addition some instruction in print techniques is made available at the Slade School of Art. In the four years the course has been running a number of students have gone on to take PhDs, in some cases with British Academy awards, and others have gone on to jobs in the print world. The course lasts one calendar year full-time, but it is also possible to take it on a part-time basis over two years. Candidates should have a good BA degree or overseas equivalent. A small number of bursaries are available by competition. For further information and application forms, write to: Or go to UCL's Homepage: www.ucl.ac.uk |
